Uploading Data into the SAMETRICA Platform

What does the feature accomplish

An updated version of uploads native to the SAMETRICA platform allows a user to upload data to an existing form in a bulk entry format. This reduces the time required to enter data and eliminates the need for external third-party tools.

To upload data into an existing form, the Uploads feature is an easy-to-use method to get your data into the SAMETRICA platform.

1. Navigate to the Data Collector

2. Select the Uploads tab

3. In the first dropdown labeled Choose the form, select the form you would like to upload data for

4. If a form in your account has a date question, a second dropdown menu (called Choose the date format) to select the data format will appear. Select the date format used in your file:

5. In the option labelled Choose File, select the file you would like to upload. You can upload any CSV or Excel file (.xls or .xlsx extension)

Please note that the columns in your file should match the questions in your form, for order and text characters. A quick way to ensure that your columns match would be to export a CSV of the form (after entering a test response), and use this as your upload template. Remove any system columns or unnecessary additional columns from your prepared upload data file.

6. Once the file is loaded, you will see the file name appear under the field:

7. Select the Check button at the bottom left. This feature will review the file for any error in the data and mismatches for entries prior to uploading

          a. The Submit button will not be clickable until a check is down

          b. If there are errors in the data file for upload, they will be listed in red:

8. If the check is run and no errors appear, The Submit button will appear bright blue.

9. Once the file upload is complete, a successful upload message will appear.

How to check the results

Navigate to the leftmost tab, Results. Under the Responses/Records column in the Results table, you will see an increase in the counts here based on the number of rows of data uploaded.
